About Your Instructor
Born and raised in Texas; Pamelita danced Latin dances and Country Swing but then encountered Kizomba and immediately fell in love. She learned Kizomba & Tarraxinha in San Antonio but then less than a year got introduced to the "French Stlye" (before Urbankiz was established as the name of the dance in the states). She started to get inspiration and learned from Laurent & Adeline, Chamalo, Kizzy, Michaela, Arnold Bunda, Albir and of course, her dance partner Audi.
She is among the top Kizomba & Urbankiz dancers in North America. Ranked 1st place overall for the North American Olympiads of Kizomba 2017 & ranked 2nd place overall at Olympiads of Kizomba in Paris 2017 competing with Audi. She was on the panel of judges for the North American Olympiads of Kizomba 2018 & for Paris Olympiads of Kizomba 2022. She has judged other competitions in the US & around the world.
Her home base is Dallas where she invested in community development, the growth, and the quality of the scene for the past few years. However, the past couple years she has been traveling alot around the world teaching men, women, and couples Urbankiz, Kizomba basics, Tarraxo, and Tarraxinha. She loves to focus on understanding of bio-mechanics; musicality; expression; and the techniques for leading and following.
We know that Kizomba has such an importance on connection therefore she likes to promotes healthy connection on and off the dance floor. There is so much value on developing relationships! Thank you for taking the time to get to know more about Pamelita.
